The school is located in the Parish, St Peter’s Catholic Church, Bobi Kontagora Diocese in Niger State, Northern Nigeria.According to Fr. Emmanuel Ambi, the Fr. Con’s Nursery and Primary School is the Church’s response “ to the absence of schools and centers of learning in our rural community and the inability of most parents to sponsor their children to travel far in search of schools for their children’s education in the urban areas. We decided to start a nursery and primary school in order to help the under privilege of our community access to a better education.
Education and moral values are our priority in Fr. Cons Nursery and primary school.
It is the first nursery and primary school in the entire village of over 2,000 habitants.
The school is surrounded by over 100 villages who are the indigenous people of the area but are marginalized by the government at the local and state level due to their illiteracy.
Despite all the challenges We are glad to see the school progressing little by little as the number of pupils for enrollment keeps rising.
Finally, it is our desire to educate the entire children population of our community as they are the future leaders of tomorrow.
Brief history and statistics of the school
The school began informally as a lesson center for children to learn how to read and write in English language on 1st October 2023 with 8 pupils. Then it was officially approved by Most Rev Bulus Yohanna, Bishop of Kontagora Diocese in January 8 2024 with just 35 pupils with two teachers till the end of the academy year in July 12th 2024.
At the beginning of the new academy year in September 23, 2024 the number raised to 80 pupils. We have four teachers at present and 77 pupils:
Nursery 1: 32 pupils
Nursery 2: 18 pupils
Primary 1: 15 pupils
Primary 2 12 pupils
